Are you clear on your purpose but not finding fulfillment in it? The passion check up will make it clear if you are on the right track or perhaps out of alignment.
One thing I’m sure we can agree: we all want a happy and fulfilled life
A fulfilled life is a life full of passion, purpose and positive impact.
Fulfillment is all about contribution, it’s about your impact on others. Fulfillment comes from living your purpose. But purpose is not a destination, it is a mindset, it is the journey towards being your best you, and creating a positive impact on others.
For years I was worried that I would never feel “fulfilled.” I would never achieve enough and be satisfied. If you’re an ultra type A, over achiever, like me: the second you get anywhere close to your goal, you move the finish line 100 yards. I thought fulfillment was a destination. That I just had to get to “x”, achieve “y” and then I’d be fulfilled.
Then somewhere along the way I realized that was absolute B.S. If I continued with the mindset of I’ll be fulfilled when I get to this point in my career…I’d always be looking to the next milestone rather than enjoying where I am right now.
It’s a beautiful moment when you realize that what you are doing right now is creating impact.
Can you shift your mindset away from the “long game” just a little, and focus on the things you are doing today?
Is what you are doing right now engaging your passion and fulfilling your purpose?
That is the path to a truly happy and fulfilled life.
How do you know if what you are doing today is serving your unique purpose?
Check in with your passion, it is the gas that fuels your purpose. If your passion tank isn’t full…
Ask yourself these 10 questions, and give yourself a point for each that you answer “yes” to:
So where do you stand? How full is your passion tank?
If you answered yes to at least 8/10 you’re on the right track. Keep doing what you’re doing girl!
If you’re hovering in the 5-7 mark, you’re passion tank could use a little fuel. Can you identify significant passions that you are not experiencing and incorporate them into your life in big or small ways?
If you scored anything less than 5, do not pass go. You’ve got to get real with yourself because your life may be out of alignment with your passions and purpose. Try some of my tips to help uncover a purpose that you may not be acknowledging or engaging.
If you are not living each day with excitement, energy, and passion, then you are not living true to your purpose.
Sometimes it’s easy to get stuck in the rat race of the day to day and get out of touch with what fuels and fulfills you. Every day, I try to live my purpose to my best abilities. That doesn’t mean I haven’t experienced “mission drift,” and I’ll talk about that in the next post.
Just remember that fulfillment is not a destination. It is a beautiful journey where you strive to engage your passion and purpose every day.
As long as you are doing that, you can take pride in knowing that you are living your best life. The life intended only for you.
